Everyone experiences grief, whether it's losing a loved one, feeling the pain of Earth Mother, or reliving the impacts of childhood trauma. I'm going to teach you where grief lives, how it impacts the body, and some simple Ayurvedic solutions to help you deal with it.
Ayurveda teaches us that grief lives in the lungs, which is why we wail when we feel this emotion. Grief is associated with kapha, which makes sense because it can make you feel heavy, dense, and lethargic.
Long term, unresolved grief impacts the plasma fluid, which is connected to a feeling of "faith" that things are going to be okay. If you are at a phase where nothing feels like it's going to be okay, you are getting nervous all the time, and your skin is dry, it's likely you have impacted this tissues.
Here's how Ayurveda can help.
1) Prānāyāma- start your day with 100 rounds of Kapalabhati or Bhastrika followed by 15 rounds of Brahmari, or Bee's breath. Kapalabhati and Bhastrika both help with releasing stagnation in the lower lungs, and Brahmari stimulates the Vagus nerve, which helps to calm your nervous system and helps you feel safe.
2) Herbs- Herbal medicines can go a long way to restoring tissues that have been depleted while grieving, can calm your nervous system, and help you to regain hope, happiness, and health. Here are a few of my favorites
Ashoka- called the remover of sorrows, this herb is renowned for it's ability to support the grieving process. You can take orally like in my Grief Release formula, and you can also add 1/2 tsp to your bath.
Rose petals- Ever hear the expression seeing the world through rose colored lenses? Rose is fabulous for deep feminine nourishment, for opening the heart chakra, and for helping you feel nurtured by the ever present Divine Mother.
Licorice- I love giving this herb to clients who have been grieving because often adrenal fatigue comes with the grieving process. Licorice is sweet in a healthy way which nourishes rasa dhatu, helping to restore faith that everything will be okay.
3) Diet- Grieving is the time to eat gentle foods that are easy to digest- especially sweet flavor like mangos, rice, ghee, and milk. And yes, some chocolate can help as well.
There you have it! Do these simple steps with consistency and I promise you will see results.
With love,
Amaya Shiva

As the birth place of Tantra, the Kama Sutra, and temple dancers, Ancient India knew how to keep it spicy in the bedroom. Ayurvedic medicine is the KING of rejuvenation therapies especially when it comes to caring for the body when you want to increase s3x drive, have more satisfying s3x, and keep yourself healthy after.
Something not talked about in the West is the WHY of low libido. From an Ayurvedic standpoint, this relates to the state of your underlying health, and is also why any good s3xual rejuvenative herb is working on many levels to restore health and vitality. All of the herbs listed below have a multitude of benefits, and all are used in our Lust Desire & Libido enhancer, but all are fantastic on their own as well.
1)Ashwaganda- Withania somnifera This is the most famous herb of Ayurveda next to Turmeric, and with good reason. It’s strengthening, nervine, and great for people who have low energy of debility. And it’s FABULOUS for boosting s3x drive. Secret use- Ashwagandha is GREAT to use after s3x to replenish the tissues that have been depleted. SImply add ½ tsp to 4 oz of organic milk of your choice.
2)Gokshura- Tribulus terrestris Gokshura is commonly called Horny Goat Weed, and is traditionally to support sexual health, prostate health, the urinary tract, and kidneys.
It’s a wonderful and safe herb, and similar to Ashwagandha, has strengthening properties. It is thought to support testosterone levels naturally and is often used in cases where there is erectile dysfunction
3)\Shatavari Asparagus racemosus Translated as “She who has 100 husbands”, this herb is traditionally used for women’s reproductive health issues but is also great for men. If you are a woman suffering from low libido, low energy, and strong PMS symptoms, this herb might be for you! Be careful with this herb if you suffer from candida as it may exacerbate that. The best way to take this is with milk and a little sugar (natural, of course!)
4) Anantamul- Hemidesmus indicus Commonly called Indian Sarsparilla, this is my FAVORITE herb of all time! This has to be the most underrated and best kept secret of Ayurvedic herbs. My teacher described this wonder herb as a “more potent and intelligent Shatavari”. This is great for those with low energy or who have low sex drive, and is especially good for women with PMS or even PMDD. I love it because it is great for calming down Pitta, which in excess can cause you to “burn out”. Not to mention it’s really delicious (seriously!). If you want to use it on its own, I recommend boiling ½ teaspoon in 20 oz of water and enjoying it as a tea!
There you have it! I hope you enjoy, and it you are looking to boost your sex drive naturallyl for more enjoyment, fun, and pleasure in the bedroom, be sure to try Lust today :) And as a special bonus for reading this far, use code “SMARTANDSEXY” for 10% off your first order!
