Importance of iron
Healthy blood for a healthy you!
Iron is an essential component for blood production and allows red blood cells to transport oxygen throughout the body. If you don’t have enough iron, your body is unable to produce sufficient red blood cells, leading to feelings of fatigue, decreased immunity, and increased chances of premature birth in pregnant women. It also plays a role in maintaining healthy cells, skin, hair, and nails(1).
How common is iron deficiency?
Iron deficiency is one of the most common nutrient deficiencies in the world and affects over 25% of the world’s population. It is the most common nutritional deficiency in the United States.
WHO recommendations. “Daily iron supplementation is recommended as a public health intervention.. for the prevention of anemia and iron deficiency (2).”
How our iron is different
Āyurveda has been using iron to treat anemia and other health conditions for over 5,000 years! The iron from Loha Bhasma is processed 100x to yield a nanoparticle form that is easier to digest and assimilate than other iron products on the market, and supports blood oxygenation so that you can vital and energized. Studies have shown vegetarians are far more likely to be iron deficient, so be sure you are getting the iron you need for the health you deserve. Try Vital Vegetarian, and feel the difference!
Why b-complex vitamins?
B vitamins play critical roles in many key metabolic processes in the body. As a group, their collective effects are important to many aspects of brain function, from energy production to DNA/RNA synthesis, as well as that of numerous neurochemicals and signaling molecules. They must be obtained from food or supplements, and while most supplementation focuses on b-12, research describes that optimal levels of all eight B-vitamins are critical for optimal physiological and neurological functioning. This same review shows a significant proportion of populations in developed countries suffer from deficiencies of one or more of this group of vitamins and concludes supplementing the entire B-vitamin group “would be a rational approach for preserving brain health (3).”
Certified Organic Āyurvedic Herbs
All of our herbs are organic, sustainably sourced, and/or FairWild certified, making them better for you and better for the planet! Herb sourcing is as important as efficacy, and this is reflected in our choices at Siddha Labs. Our herbs have been used for many thousands of years in India and beyond and have stood the test of time, but many species are now endangered due to overharvesting and poor cultivation practices. As part of our commitment to your health and the health of the planet, we never use endangered species or herbs that have been cultivated using pesticides. Our herbs are also fairly traded, as economic equity is one of the founding pillars of our company.
Thank you for supporting sustainability, organic farming, and fair trade, your choices matter and your dollar vote counts! A healthier planet AND a healthier you.
